1. Do I need a firearms licence to possess Gel blasters?
Yes, you do need a firearms licence with A4 to possess gel blasters in South Australia
Procedure:
- Apply a firearms licence with A4 class (Paint ball and gel blaster) -fee applied PD303
- SAPOL Approval letter for training course study – fee applied
- Attend Training
- Temporary Firearm licence (paper)
- Photo taken
- Lodge PTA on your behalf and engrave numbers on it
– $45 each -Process time: Approx. 2-3 days
- Another $41 Registration fee pay at any Sapol with all the paper works and engraved blaster
- Keep it safe – TAX INVOICE before pink slip sent to you

3. How do gel blaster guns works?
Toy Gel Blasters are similar to that of a plastic nerf gun, however instead of shooting a foam dart like a nerf gun, they fire small harmless water balls. This is using compressed air from a plunger tube inside the blaster. They can be automatic fire by battery operated and manually.
4. Can you over soak gel balls?
Gel Balls must be soaked at least for 4 hours in water to fully expand to size. Failing to completely hydrate the Gel Balls will cause the Gel Blaster to function properly. Overnight soaking is recommended.
5. How much water do I need for 10000 gel balls?
Gel ball / water ratio:
10,000 pack / 4 L water. 5000 pack / 2L water, 500pack/ 200ml water.
6. How long does it take to charge a gel blaster battery?
Around 2 hours
Charging times for most batteries is around 2 hours. Remove the battery from Blaster when not in use. Make sure the battery is fully charge before first use.
7. Do you need a license for a gel blaster?
Gel Blasters are regarded as a Category A paintball firearm as per this article. We are unable to ship Gel Blasters and Receivers to South Australia. Other products (Accessories, Clothing etc.) are available to ship to South Australia

9. Do gel blaster guns hurt?
The conclusion from the experiment is that the Gel Blaster does not hurt much. If shot by pistol, you will feel like being pinched and there will be a temporary mark left on the skin. If you are shot by rifles, it only gives a short burst of stinging pain.
10. How hard do gel blasters hit?
Gel blaster are typically spring powered, battery operated toys. They shoot soft gel projectiles up to around 250feet per second.
11. How old do you have to be uses a gel blaster?
Min 10 years old . We recommended goggles are need to wear at all time.

12. How long do gel balls last in water?
Gel Balls generally take a minimum of 4 hours to fully hydrate. You may store your hydrated Gel Balls in an airtight container, away from the elements and direct sunlight. They will last around 2 weeks in a container.
13. How long do gel blaster battery take to charge?
Around 2 hours
